Philadelphia, PA Work Comp Attorney Michael W. Cardamone Wins Work Comp Case For Injured Maintenance Worker

Attorney Michael W. Cardamone, Founder of Cardamone Law- a specialized boutique firm which only handles Pennsylvania Work Comp cases for injured workers, has secured a victory for his client, an injured maintenance worker who sustained a traumatic right thumb injury which resulted in infection and surgery. Litigation commenced in January 2013 and a Final Decision was issued by the Work Comp Judge on August 18, 2014.

The nature of the litigation was 1) the proper description of the work injury and 2) whether Cardamone’s client was fully recovered. Cardamone was successful on both issues, convincing the Workers’ Compensation Judge that the injury consisted of a pneumatic injection injury to the right thumb causing loss of range of motion with ongoing sensitivity at the tip of the thumb. Further, the Judge found that Claimant was not fully recovered, finding his testimony concerning his ongoing symptoms to be credible and consistent with the records of his treating physician.

Based on the victory, the Notice of Compensation Payable was amended by the Judge- this is the key, controlling document in a Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation case, and Claimant’s medical benefits remain open allowing for more treatment.
